Mr. Bachir Ismaël Ouedraogo, Minister of Mines, Careers and Energy of Burkina Faso, paid a visit to the headquarters of the AMEE in Rabat, Friday, June 08, 2018. to explore new opportunities for cooperation between two countries in the field of energy efficiency.

This visit is part of a cooperation agreement in the fields of energy, mining and geology recently signed by the Minister of Energy, Mines and Sustainable Development, Aziz Rabbah, and the Burkinabe Minister of Commerce, Industry and Handicrafts Mr. Harouna Kaboré.

This agreement sets the framework for cooperation between the two countries in the fields of energy, mining and geology, particularly in terms of exchange of information, expertise, experience and know-how in these areas. areas.

During this meeting Mr. Saïd Mouline, Director General of the Agency, presented an overview on the role of the MEAE in the implementation of the energy strategy in Morocco and specified that the AMEE is a public institution intervening across the entire value chain of the energy efficiency sector. Mr. Mouline detailed the various projects and programs structuring conducted in the sectors of industry, construction, agriculture, transportation and public lighting. Mr Mouline added that AMEE, which collaborates with several African agencies and institutions, is in great demand for capacity building and exchange of experiences and experts through the Green Platform training center. AMEE's practice in Marrakech, which is now classified, under the auspices of UNESCO, as a regional center of excellence for category II for energy efficiency, whose mission is to strengthen international and regional cooperation for the development of human and institutional resources in the field of energy efficiency and sustainable development.

This exchange also made it possible to identify several other areas of cooperation such as solar pumping, the setting up of new projects or the awareness of citizens of both countries on energy efficiency.
